Captaincy will feel like hard work, but it’s under this pressure that Dhoni will make stronger strides.
Sri Lanka
Initially unrealistic with their plans, Sri Lanka will realise this and look to re-work their strategies. Bowling will be aggressive, but they will need to be careful with their fielding.

Starting positively, Mathews will remain mostly balanced, but he will find it tough to hold on to this balance till the end.

Bailey will try a little too hard to keep everything balanced and in order. It will be a tough task, but by re-confirming strategies before implementing them will put the team in a better position.
Sri Lanka
Initial bowling will be inconsistent, but the team will come together well in all other areas. They will be progressively cautious and not stagnate. Their sensible implementation of plans will work in their favour.

There will be some good bowling and batting partnerships that will steer their innings. Batting towards the end and some complacency in the field will be a bother.

Cook will be quite clear in his mind as to how he wishes to approach the game, but outwardly he may appear confused. He will manage to juggle quite a few concerns, hence retaining the team’s balance.
Sri Lanka
Confusions and a temperamental performance will hinder their position. They will have to be more aggressive with the bat in order to give their team a fighting chance. Bowling towards the end may lose focus.

Calculated and quick decision making will work in Mathews’ favour today. He will take the right risks and have conviction in them. But in order to succeed he will have to continue this formulae to the end, especially as that’s where the team will falter.

His captaincy has the right ideas, but he really will find it tough to keep himself together and focussed enough for it to be effective for the team.
Sri Lanka
They may not have the most ideal start and their initial negativity will ware off quickly for them to steady themselves well. Middle over batting will need to step up, and fielding will need to be more consistent.

A little over-aggressive, Mathews will calm himself and lead the team well. His own contribution will be positive.

The pattern continues with Delhi not having the most ideal start, and neither will they have the best frame of mind – they will wait and watch – this will allow them to build the right momentum to fight the opposition strongly. Their bowling may let them down.
The Captain – Mahela Jayawardene
Initially appearing confused, Jayawardene will gather himself and the team well. He will lead better and may even be involved in a good partnership. But he will certainly work hard and see better results.
Mumbai Indians
Mumbai do not feel the most balanced despite some good past performances. They will seem shaky and unsure at times, yet they too will put up a strong fight. Aggression will be a key element, but instead, they will need to be more cautious in all areas of play.

Captain Ponting outwardly appears strong, yet has an under-confident mind set today. He will have to work much harder to gain control over situations.

Seeming too soft will not stead well for the Kings XI. They will make a positive turn around and pull themselves together. Their bowling will initially be a let down but with a strong finish.

Plans will be simplified, but Gilchrist will again be too soft towards the opposition – this may just be a deception as he will read the situation well, allowing him to implement some clever ideas.
Pune Warriors India
The Warriors will be inconsistent – at times they will be strong, but only to drop their standards again. Their finishing looks weak since they will believe that all is in control, but this over-confidence will not help. Fielding standards will be depreciate in the second half.

Mathews is extremely determined and aggressive. He will confuse his ideas and will find it tough to maintain the right balance for successful captaincy.
